Lauren Rapp is a DC-based artist currently focused on painting, sculpture and furniture design. Her recent body of work employs playful, minimal anthropomorphized shapes to explore questions around the repetitive accumulation of decisions, feelings, experiences and the physical composition of places and things. Individual components stack to amass a painting, a sculpture, a seeming habitat, a painting, a life, with images ranging from small assemblages to very large scale paintings. Her work has been featured on the cover of the Washington Post Magazine and she was awarded the Windsor Arts, Culture & Heritage Fund Grant. She holds an MFA from the University of Windsor in Canada.
